Al-Qaida has acknowledged that its number three leader, who commanded operations in Afghanistan, is dead, CNN reports.
The terrorist group announced Mustafa Abu Yazid's death on a number of Islamist Web sites on Monday, according to Maryland-based SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors such sites.
Al-Qaida also said Yazid's wife, three of his daughters, a granddaughter and others were killed.
