Abu Sayyaf militants were targeted in last week's new air and ground operation, say Philippine military officials cited by Rappler (Philippines).
The offensive began on Thursday in the mountains of Lanao del Sur province, which is a stronghold of Abu Sayyaf and the Maute Group.
At least 15 militants were killed and seven others injured, including leader Isnilon Hapilon, said officials on Sunday.
