Airborne Forces To Reorganize Into Brigades

The General Staff is implementing a new brigade structure for the Russian airborne forces as part of an effort to improve mobility and enlarge the service, reports Interfax-AVN.

Divisions will remain the core unit of the airborne service, but they will be made up of brigades rather than the current regiments, said an unnamed Defense Ministry source.

Currently, each division has two regiments with about 4,000 personnel.
