Air Force Wants To Put C-17s At Stewart Air National Guard Base
November 18 2010
USA
The U.S. Air Force says Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y., is its preferred location for eight C-17 cargo planes, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The Air Force also wants to retire the 12 C-5A Galaxy aircraft assigned to Stewart.
This is not a final basing decision, noted an Air Force spokesman.
An environmental impact analysis must be completed before a final decision can be made.
