India's air force is seeking to purchase 48 more Mi-17V-5 helicopters from Russia, reports the Economic Times (India).
The helicopters sought in the potential US$1.1 billion deal would operate in high-altitude terrain and deserts along India's borders with China and Pakistan, said sources.
The proposal includes maintenance facilities for the aircraft as well as an offset obligation of 30 percent, said the sources.
