Air Force Takes Delivery Of Final Wedgetail AEW&C Aircraft From Boeing

Seattle-based defense firm Boeing has announced the handover of the sixth and final Wedgetail airborne early warning and control aircraft (AEW&C) to the Australian air force. Delivery took place on May 2.
The Australian fleet, assigned to 2 Squadron at RAAF Williamtown in Newcastle, is expected to achieve initial operational capability later this year, according to the air force program manager.
