The U.S. Air Force has decided to rely on its Reserve component for needed maintenance personnel as it works to bring the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter into service, reports the Air Force Times.
The move became necessary after Congress blocked the service's efforts to free up maintainers by retiring A-10 attack aircraft, Lt. Gen. James Jackson, the head of the Air Force Reserve Command, said on Tuesday.
