Air Force fighter pilots and crewmembers are more likely than their fellow airmen to be diagnosed with certain forms of cancer, according to a new service study cited by Defense One.
The Cancer Incidence and Mortality Among Fighter Aviators report, conducted by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing, reviewed pilots and weapon systems officers with more than 100 flight hours in Air Force fighter aircraft from 1970 to 2004.
