Air Force Orders Deployable Aircraft Landing Guidance System

The U.S. Air Force has awarded a contract to Thales for its deployable instrument landing systems (D-ILS), according to a company press release.
The contract covers two production representative units along with technical documentation, system analysis, architecture and engineering and contractor support, said a statement released Monday.
The Air Force eventually expects to purchase as many as 38 systems.
