Air Force Orders Additional KC-46 Tankers

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a contract modification for another batch of KC-46 aerial tankers, reports the U.S. Dept. of Defense.
The $2.6 billion modification exercises an option for 15 production Lot 5 KC-46 aircraft, data, two spare engines, five wing refueling pod kits, initial spare parts and support equipment, said a Pentagon release on Sept. 27.
Work under the contract is scheduled to be completed by 2023.
