Air Force Opts For Lockheed Surveillance System

The Finnish air force has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract for an airborne surveillance system and associated ground systems, reports the defense firm.
The four-year US$100 million contract covers the modification of a C-295 aircraft with an advanced surveillance system, as well as ground stations and communication terminals.
The surveillance system will feature and open and modular architecture for easy upgrading in the future, say company officials.
