The U.S. Air Force has selected five companies believed to be capable of meeting its requirements for the development of a new hypersonic strike weapon, reports Flight Global.
The service plans to award one engineering, manufacturing and development contract early in fiscal 2018. The bidders are Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Orbital ATK and Raytheon.
