The Air Force's first female four-star general has formally been installed as head of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), reports the Air Force News Service.
Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger formally took command during a Tuesday ceremony at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The AFMC is responsible for the technology, acquisition, test and sustainment of the services current and future weapon systems.
