The Royal Thai Air Force says it plans to establish two unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) squadrons, reports the Bangkok Post.
Pending approval, the units would be based at Wing 4 in Nakhon Sawan in central Thailand, said Air Chief Marshal Tritos Sonchaeng, the air force chief.
The air force has decided to decommission its three Arava patrol aircraft, which have been in service for 36 years. The Aravas are currently assigned to Wing 4.
The Thai air force has some UAVs already...
