Air Force Begins Retiring MiG-21s

The Indian air force says it is decommissioning its aging fleet of MiG-21 fighters, reports the Press Trust of India.
The MiG-21 aircraft are in their final phase of service and beginning to be phased out, Defense Minister A.K. Antony told lawmakers on Monday.
The air force currently has a fleet of over 200 MiG-21s. About 121 of these have been upgraded to the Bison standard and will remain in service through 2017, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
