Air Force Begin Space Launch Competition

The U.S. Air Force has issued its first tender for satellite launches in more than a decade, reports Reuters.
On Wednesday, the Air Force Space and Missile System Center issued a draft request for proposals (RfP) to launch a next-generation Global Positioning System (GPS) III satellite.
The potential contract covers launch vehicle production, mission integration and launch operations. The deal would likely be worth more than US$100 million.
