The Indian air force expects to activate a new digital information network next week, reports India Blooms.
The Air Force Network (AFNET), a fully security and reliable system, has been designed to replace the service's 1950s-era communication network, which uses tropo-scatter technology.
The AFNET is also part of an overall plan to network all three Indian military services.
