An air base in Deir Ezzor, a city surrounded by the Islamic State for three years before being retaken, has resumed operations, says a Syrian military source cited by Xinhua, China's state news agency.
State media and a U.K.-based monitoring group also reported the base's functioning.
The Syrian army ended the ISIS siege on the enclave of the city last week. Warplanes could not operate from the adjacent base while surrounded for fear of being targeted.
