Aide To Defense Secretary, 3-Star General, Is Fired Over Misconduct

U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has fired a top military assistant, a three-star general, reports the Military Times.

Army Lt. Gen. Ron Lewis lost his position on Thursday morning after Carter learned of the allegations of misconduct, said a senior defense official.

The department revealed no details about the alleged misconduct.

The Washington Post, citing an unnamed person familiar with the case, said the decision “involved an alleged improper relationship.”
