Agreement Calls For Permanent Basing Of U.S. Fighter Detachment

Poland and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding authorizing the permanent stationing of a U.S. Air Force detachment in Poland beginning in 2013, reports the Warsaw Business Journal.

The agreement was signed on Monday in Warsaw by Poland's Defense Minister Bogdan Klich and U.S. Ambassador Lee Feinstein.

The detachment is expected to train Polish personnel in the use of F-16 fighters and C-130 cargo aircraft.
