After Long Effort, Army Goes With Sig Sauer For New Handgun

The U.S. Army has finally selected a new standard sidearm, reports the Army Times.

The new model will be based on a modified version of a Sig Sauer handgun, said the service. The weapon will replace Beretta's M9, which has been in use for more than 30 years, according to an Army statement on Thursday.
