After Evicting Rival Faction, Al-Shabaab Controls Port Town

The Al-Qaida-linked Al-Shabaab group says it has assumed control of the Somali port town of Kismayo Friday after clashing with rival insurgent group Hizbul Islam, Reuters reports.
At least 28 civilians were killed as a result of the violence, a local rights group said. More than 120 were wounded, said hospital officials.
A Hizbul Islam commander said "scores" of fighters from both sides were also killed in the battle, which lasted about seven hours.
