After 33 Years, USS Philadelphia Faces Decommissioning

The fast attack submarine Philadelphia is set to be decommissioned on Friday, exactly 33 years after it was commissioned into service, the Navy Times reports.
The Los Angeles-class sub completed its 16th and final deployment Feb. 3 when it returned to Naval Submarine Base New London, Conn.
It was the third boat in its class and the sixth vessel to bear the city's name.
