The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) needs to pay more attention to long-term strategies to achieve its objectives, says a new government report cited by the Stars and Stripes.
The command, which was activated in October 2008, has made some progress in helping partner nations strengthen their defense forces, but has not generally measured the long-term effects of its activities, says the report by the Government Accountability Office.
