Afghanistan Withdrawal Plans Pushed Forward

The Australian government has announced that its troops will return from Afghanistan a year earlier than once planned.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard will set out a timetable on Tuesday for the withdrawal of Australian forces, reports the Australian.

Most troops will be home ahead of a federal election scheduled for August 2013, said officials.
