A joint Afghan-international force accidentally exchanged fire with Afghan soldiers in Wardak province on Saturday, CNN reports.
The shooting took place in the Sayed Abad district, near the village of Maydan, according to Afghanistan's Defense Ministry.
Each force apparently thought the other was the enemy. Small-arms fire from an Afghan army outpost reportedly sparked the fight.
