Five Afghan soldiers were killed and two others wounded Wednesday when NATO aircraft accidently bombed their position, Reuters reports.
International troops operating in Ghazni province believed the Afghan troops were insurgents and called in the strike, an Afghan government spokesman said.
The pilots from on unidentified country apparently did not know that Afghan soldiers had laid a trap for Taliban militants on the ground beneath them, reported the New York Times.
