A Canadian combat support unit based in Goose Bay, Newfoundland, has had to stop responding to search-and-rescue calls because too many of its personnel are deployed in Afghanistan, reports CBC News.
The squadron has a secondary search-and-rescue (SAR) role when fully operational, backing up a SAR squadron based in Gander, military officials said.
