Aerosonde UAV Chosen For Special Ops Duties

The U.S. Special Operations Command has selected AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems to supply unmanned aircraft for its mid-endurance unmanned aircraft systems (MEUAS) II program.
The three-year, $600 million award includes support operations for the Aerosonde small unmanned aircraft system, according to a release from Textron Systems, which owns Maryland-based AAI.
Initial funding is worth $20 million.
