The Philippine army has dispatched additional troops to southern Mindanao to boost efforts against the communist New People's Army (NPA), reports the Philippine Star.
The 71st and 84th infantry battalions as well as special operations, scout ranger, engineer, medical and civil military operations groups have been deployed from different parts of Mindanao, according to the military.
