The U.S. Navy captain who raised the alarm about a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on his ship has been relieved of command, reports Fox News.
Capt. Brett Crozier, the commander of the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, was removed from his duties on Thursday.
The decision was made because Crozier circumvented the chain of command and was not made out of retribution, emphasized Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly, as quoted by Business Insider.
