Accident Costs Life Of Airborne Trainee

A Russian paratroop trainee has been killed in a training accident near Ryazan in western Russia, reports Interfax-AVN.

Cadets from the Russian army's all-arms academy were performing parachute jumps from an Il-76 cargo plane on Wednesday at the time, said a spokesman for the airborne forces.

Details of the accident were not immediately released.

The airborne forces command launched an investigation into the incident, said a spokesman.
