The Philippine military says one of its soldiers who was kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf last week has been beheaded, reports ABS-CBN (Philippines).
The body of Sgt. Anni Siraji of the Army's 32nd Infantry Battalion was found in Patikul town in Sulu, said a military commander on Sunday.
Siraji was kidnapped on Thursday. He was likely targeted and killed for his involvement in peace initiatives on the island, said the commander.
