Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, during a visit to Hanoi, has promised to provide Vietnam with six new patrol boats, reports Reuters.
Also on Monday during his visit, Abe offered another loan of US$1.1 billion in development aid, reported the South China Morning Post.
Japan had announced in September that it was prepared to supply new patrol boats to Vietnam.
