Abe Names New Defense, Foreign Ministers

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has named new defense and foreign affairs ministers in a Cabinet reshuffle, reports Japanese broadcaster NHK.
On Wednesday, Abe named Taro Kono as defense minister. He replaces Takeshi Iwaya.
Toshimitsu Motegi succeeds Kono as foreign minister. Motegi previously served as the economy minister.
Kono oversaw the foreign ministry during a time of increasingly-tense relations with South Korea, noted Reuters.
