The investigation into the sinking of a Marine amphibious vehicle during an exercise last year found that the vehicle had several issues that should have prevented its use, reports the Marine Corps Times.
The amphibious assault vehicle that sank during an exercise off the coast of San Clemente Island, Calif., had two specific problems that affected its watertight integrity, according to documents from the investigation report obtained by the newspaper.
