The U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, based at Fort Bragg, N.C., is now in charge of the U.S. training mission in Iraq, reports the Stars and Stripes.
The colors of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command-Iraq were passed on June 28 from the 1st Infantry Division.
The 300 paratroopers are part of the 3,500-strong U.S. force involved in the training and advisory mission to prepare Iraqi security forces to combat the Islamic State terrorist group.
