8 Killed By U.S. Helicopters In Apparent Friendly-Fire Incident In Logar

Afghan officials say a U.S. airstrike has accidentally killed at least eight Afghan soldiers and injured five others in the eastern part of the country, reports the Guardian (U.K.).

The friendly-fire incident took place early Monday at an army outpost in Chiltan, in the Baraki Barak district in Logar province, said the provincial governor.

Two U.S. helicopters were said to be involved.
