The U.S. Air Force airdropped more cargo in Afghanistan last year than ever before, reports the Air Force News Service.
Airmen dropped 60.4 million pounds (27.4 million kg) of cargo throughout Afghanistan in 2010, nearly twice the 32.2 million pounds (14.6 million kg) airdropped the previous year, according to statistics compiled by Air Forces Central.
The large amount has been to attributed to the deployment of 30,000 additional troops between December 2009 and August 2010. ...
