5th Order Placed For Piranha III Wheeled Armored Vehicles

The Romanian military has awarded General Dynamics European Land Systems a contract for a fifth batch of Piranha III 8 x 8 wheeled armored vehicles, reports the European defense firm.
The deal was inked on Dec. 30, 2016, as part of the Romanian army's vehicle modernization plan.
The vehicles have a top speed of 62 mph (100 kmh) and a range of 780 miles, noted UPI.
The value of the contract and number of vehicles involved was not disclosed.
