Mali—5,000 Fighters Join Government Disarmament Program

Thousands of militants have agreed to take part in a disarmament program launched by the Malian government, reports Channels TV (Nigeria). The Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) program was established in December as part of efforts to boost defense and security in Mali's restive central region.
