Maoist insurgents in eastern India destroyed an ambulance Saturday night, apparently mistaking it for a police vehicle, United Press International reports.
Five people, including a pregnant woman and a 3-year-old girl, were killed in the blast, said security officials.
The vehicle hit a powerful land mine that reportedly tossed the vehicle 15 yards into the air and more than 100 yards away.
The attack occurred in the Kandhamal district of Orissa state in eastern India. ...
