Eight high-ranking officers have defected from the Libyan army, reports the Tripoli Post.
Five generals, two colonels and a major spoke at a news conference in Rome on Monday and appealed to other comrades to join them.
Abdurrahman Shalgam, the Libyan ambassador to the United Nations who previously defected, said that 120 military personnel have defected recently.
One general said that Qaddafi's forces have been reduced to about 20 percent efficiency and "not more than 10"...
