The Russian military has just kicked off its largest airborne exercises since the collapse of the Soviet Union, RIA Novosti reports.
The drills involve more than 4,000 servicemen and 300 pieces of equipment.
The exercise is taking place in the Kostroma, Yaroslavl and Ivanovo regions of central Russia.
