Philippine security forces clashed Wednesday with New People's Army (NPA) rebels in Quezon province during a high-speed chase of a hijacked bus, reports GMA News.
The communist rebels boarded a bus and ordered the driver to bring the vehicle to the Bondoc area, said police.
The local authorities in San Francisco learned of the hijacking and gave chase, as did some Philippine soldiers.
Police said the bus was stopped at a checkpoint in Barangay Ajos. A firefight ensued. ...
