The Iraqi air force has received its first batch of F-16 fighters purchased from the United States, reports Rudaw, an Iraqi Kurdish publication.
Four of the jets arrived at Balad air base, north of Baghdad, on Monday, reported Reuters.
Iraq has ordered 36 F-16s. The most recent deliveries were delayed in part due to security concerns after the Islamic State captured large parts of Iraq last year.
