South Korea has launched a new frigate that will strengthen the navy's anti-submarine warfare capabilities, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
On Monday, the Seoul was launched at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in the southeastern port city of Ulsan, said the navy.
The Seoul (FFG-821) is the third ship in the Daegu class, which will eventually replace the service's aging frigates and corvettes.
Delivery is scheduled for early 2021.
