32,000 More Troops Sought To Fight Maoists

The Cabinet Committee on Security last week approved plans to raise 32,000 Indian paramilitaries to battle Maoist militants, reports the Calcutta Telegraph.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) paramilitaries are expected to be used in the "Red Corridor" that is said to be taking shape from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh state to the border of Nepal.
The government also has indicated that it has set aside US$315 million to create a security architecture to secure the nation's borders...
