At least 30 members of India's largest paramilitary service have been killed in a car bombing in India-administered Kashmir, reports India Today.
On Thursday, a car rigged with explosives rammed into a bus carrying around 45 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel along a highway in Kashmir's Pulwama district. The bus was completely destroyed.
A car in the convoy carrying CRPF personnel was also struck by the blast, reported the Hindu.
There were 70 vehicles in the convoy carrying about 2,500 troops, reported the Asian News International.
Witnesses reported additional gunfire and blasts after the initial explosion.
As many as 40 other officers were injured in the attack, reported News18 (New Delhi).
Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack. Police said they had identified the suicide attacker as a local JeM militant who joined the group last year.
