The German government has decided to continue three separate international military operations, reports Deutsche Welle.
The decision, made by Chancellor Angela Merkel, requires parliamentary approval to proceed.
If approved, German marines will continue to serve with the European Union's anti-piracy operation off the coast of Somalia. There are currently 320 marines taking part in Operation Atalanta, with up to 1,400 personnel authorized.
